Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Directed by Quentin Tarantino with some great actors, not least Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt - but what a disappointment. It bored me to tears. I turned off about a third of the way through. Did I miss anything - and if so, what?

I've only seen one of his before - Inglourious Basterds - which I really enjoyed. Perhaps that left me expecting too much.

Not seen Pulp Fiction? Most people like that.

My favourites are Jackie Brown for a thoughtful movie, or Death Proof for something a bit bat-hit crazy ... but honestly, they're all good in their own way. The difference between Jackie Brown and Death Proof is incredible!

Try Pulp Fiction, sweary and violent. It starts towards the end of one of the plots, then weaves its way through various threads. One of Tarantino's best. Bruce Willis as "Butch" is brilliant, but then so are John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Harvey Keitel, I could go on.

I’ve tried to watch Pulp Fiction but I went off it within minutes. That violence is not for me. My husband loves the film.

OK, try Jackie Brown. One of my favourite movies, with an amazing cast including Robert de Niro, and the late Robert Forster who you may have seen in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Jackie Brown has a bit of violence, but nowhere near as much as Inglourious Basterds. It is sublime.

Seemed to me to be some kind of parody of the Manson murders.If it was ,it was sure in bad taste.Tarantino doesnt go for peace and love,looks like he was on Mansons side rather than Tate/Polanski side.

That was obviously where it was heading. Odd casting of Damien Lewis as Steve McQueen - but it worked.

Tarantino certainly doesnt do love and peace thats for sure.Methinks Charles Manson was a hero of his.Whether this film was a paean to Manson or Sharon Tate is anyones guess.

Extreme violent killings in his films seem to be a trait of Tarantino.Charles Manson and his family had a trait of extreme violent killings.Methinks Tarantino is being a wee bit disingenuous when he says he is against violence.

Why do people like violence in films? I'm perhaps a bit odd, but I find real life violent enough without seeking fictional depictions of it.

Nothing fictional about the Tate/LaBianca killings,Atheist.Methinks Tarantino gets a certain thrill distressing his audience.Some of his stuff tends and panders to the psychopaths in the USA.
