i did watch the program

He could have done a simple appeal (you say pointless, but if the planners had used the wrong info to make the decision (ie if it was personal) then who knows?)
if the appeal was unsuccessful, it would have been because it didnt fit in with te local plan, or was outside planning law or whatever, which isnt personal, and means the decision is sound based on current laws. Of course he wanted the top people - i wanted a top person to represent me at my planning hearing but had to make do with what icould afford

you are missing the point he was talking about appealing direct to the government, that costs, big time. The local lot where biased pointless appealing to them.
he should appeal to the EHRC, his human rights are obviously being denied
but you dont apply to the local council for an appeal - you apply to the national planning inspectorate (otherwise it'd be like them making their own homework!)
i still dont get why he didnt do that. If the denial wasnt based on lawful reasons, i dont see why one wouldnt
He hasn't a clue about planning and thinks that he can get what he wants by brandishing big bucks, bullying, playing the media and playing the victim card if he doesn't get what he wants. And those here who admire Casserole like Johnson, Trump et al obviously do the usual and attack the jobsworths (or enemies of the people) who are bound to do their duty without fear or favour.
He’s not brandishing big bucks though. Have you actually watched the series, atheist?
Naomi, I haven't watched the series. The big bucks he would brandish if he had them are the bluffy ones he claimed would be required in order to lodge an appeal. As I say, he is playing the victim card; "I'm too poor to pay for the finest most expensive silks. It's not fair. It's not my fault that I didn't pay for sensible planning advice before I launched on this adventure."
What was that you were saying about assumptions, atheist? He does have the big bucks - approximately £55 million at the last count - and he is not claiming to be poor or playing the victim. Inverted snobs are always sour, atheist, and spiteful, and you are a prime example. Educate yourself. Watch it.
I think people are thinking that he is bank-rolling the farm, when in fact he is running the farm as a business that has to sustain itself.
^exactly.
Those who are saying that Clarkson should have used the normal appeals process should take note of my link at 2210 on Monday.

It can be seen there that the initial application was refused on 17 Jan 2022 (direct link: https://publicaccess.westoxon.gov.uk/online-applications/files/CBE356AECC42F0D770205739444CA309/pdf/21_03159_FUL-REFUSAL_-_FULL_APPLICATION-1057482.pdf ) and that an appeal has subsequently been made.

It will also be seen that an informal hearing, in respect of that appeal, is to be held before an inspector appointed by the Secretary of State on Tuesday of next week. (Direct link: https://publicaccess.westoxon.gov.uk/online-applications/files/42BE45A17CF515246B43CB36804100D5/pdf/21_03159_FUL-HEARING_NOTIFICATION_LETTER-1181213.pdf ).

So the regular appeals process is being followed and is still ongoing.
Thanks Chris.
