No Programme Information
10 Answers
I have a Panasonic TV combined with a Humax PVR.
I have followed the instructions from Freeview Play a few days ago and did a fresh download of channel settings. All was well except that on the TV menu on BBC1 HD (101) I am getting "No programme information".
I've retried downloading a number of times but get the same. All is well on BBC standard definition. In another room I have an LG TV combined with a similar Humax PVR and all is fine.
Can any member suggest a cure?

A stronger signal is required to 'pull in' the electronic programme guide than is required solely to 'pull in' the pictures and sound. I lived for years with a telly where, despite having no problems watching the actual channels, there was no information on the EPG. Boosting the signal strength solved the problem for me though.
So I suggest getting hold of one of these

Then I think that your problem will be resolved.

TV reception conditions are affected by, among other things, the 11-year solar sunspot cycle. That's currently heading up towards a peak, so the conditions now won't be the same as they were a few years ago. That could well explain why you're now getting signal strength problems that you've not had before.
Further, Freeview television is transmitted using 'multiplexes', which are 'bundles of channels', with each multiplex using a different frequency. Channel 101 is transmitted using the PSB3 multiplex, whereas Channel 832 is included within the PSB2 one. It's likely that your aerial is closer to 'resonance' on the PSB2 frequency than on the PSB3 one, explaining why you can receive the data signals OK on Channel 832 but not on Channel 101.
