Steps down from what and is it permanent?
Question Author
This Morning and yes it's permanent
Thanks.
Has he had to leave because of his brother?
I think Holly was more to blame.
I haven't really been following events. What has happened? (I already know about his brother's misdemeanours)

The internet is ride with rumours, as usual. Truth or lies, I've no idea.
I tried hard, but, I couldn’t care less.
There was a viewer backlash when he came out, not because he is gay but because he lied to his wife for many years, then when Philip and Holly jumped the queue when Queen Elizabeth died and now his brother's conviction.
Those rumours about the runner have been circulating for years but have been repeated frequently lately.
Should we care?

The dates with a teenage boy didn't help either.
Not sure how I feel about this, a career in tatters because of a brother? And how many gay people have tried to cover it by being in a heterosexual relationship or worse still, getting married,it must have been very hard for him living a lie and he didn’t choose to have a pervert for a brother, I feel slightly sorry for him

I reckon it's a plot between Holly and the talentless Alison Hammond to get AH a permanent place of the show:-))
I never watch the programme so I shouldn't really comment
I really think AH is one of the most talentless people on TV Margo, I stopped watching daytime tv a long time back
Bobbi, it has been reported in the national press as press that Philip's brother told him about the assaults two years ago and his only reaction was to tell him not to do it again.
Subsequently, the brother told his psychiatrist about his offending and also that he'd told Philip. The psychiatrist reported it to the police, including the fact that Philip knew.
It was only when the police confronted Philip after the brother's arrest that he made the statement.
I'm not saying or suggesting that other offences occurred but his brother could have committed many more during Philip's two year's of silence. That to my mind is unforgivable.
I’m inclined to agree but how difficult a dilemma he must have found himself in, for example ,are their parents elderly? Then for him to keep a sordid family secret , I hope his brother rots in prison but he’s took PS with him to face ruin the rest of his life
As Philip is in his 60s his parents aren't going to be young. His father, Brian, died in 2008 but his mother, Patricia is still alive and in her 80s.
So many secrets, in the end falling off a Cliff.
