I stopped watching it years ago. A load of politically correct,  embarrassing, cringe making rubbish.

There are plenty of other TV programmes for you to watch.

No doubt there is Jack.

is it on now?

If they are judging personally, they should each have to do 'a turn'.

If you stopped watching it years ago, how do you know what it's like now.  Programmes do change.

@ 17.13...there are plenty of other TV programmes for you to moan about, surely?

Isn't the title an oxymoron?

It's not the same since princess anne won it .

Not so Andy, there are personalities in sport, but they never get any screen time.

Canary - So how do we know?

And is the winner chosen for their personality, or for conspicuous success, in which case the title is inaccurate.

Plainly it is not about the "personality": if it was then we'd all be complaining that the winner might be a good laugh but was not that great at sport :-)

I lost interest in it when they started doing a short list: much more fun when you could vote for anyone ...

yes. in 1991 angler Bob Nudd collected enough votes to secure the title. but the BBC ruled him offside because allegedly a campaign led by an angling magazine was "against the rules".

In the title of this show, the word personality in this context is:  a famous person, esp.in popular entertainment or sports,

rather than the type of personality you display, shown by the way you behave, feel, and think, etc.

Mary, Queen of Stops  has been awarded my vote.

I didn't watch the show, but I am aware that the England gaolie came in for some stick over her outfit.

I think she was badly advised - you need to be really slim, with a long neck, good shoulders, a decent bustline, slim arms, and hands, and a tan, to carry off that outfit.

No offence to the lady, but she has the body of an athlete, which is hardly surprising, and she would have been better with something that covered her up, in a nice bright colour, rather than going to a 'designer' look that simply did not suit her.

I hope she didn't allow the criticism (and I am sure she will not see this, which is an observation only) to detract from her wonderful achievement for which she deserves every respect and admiration.
