New Years Honours
Great to see Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow have been awarded CBE's.An even more deserving award IMO is the British Empire Medal to little Tony Hudgell for his efforts in raising awareness of child abuse.

I've seen the list and, as usual, along with the governing party's donors (Labour do it when they're in power)it contains lots of people being awarded for simply doing their 'day job'. Jobs which, in many cases, have given those people a very high standard of living and that shoud be reward enough.
There are those on the list who deserve some sort of award for devoting a part of their lives to charitable causes, and that's what the Honours List ought to be for. In my most humble of opinions, of course.
Kev Sinfield thoroughly deserves his Honour - he should, by rights, be knighted. However he is already referred to as 'Sir Kev' up here already, which is probably more important to him. How many people could raise about £8million to fight what was an obscure disease like MND? There now exists a specialised unit to research and aid.
To anyone who watched Rugby League, Kev, Rob and Jamie were almost the Holy Trinity when playing. The man carried his friend over the end line after running a marathon! He has just run (I think I'm right) 27 marathons in 27 days plus an extra mile on each. (My brain's jammed, sorry, but I think it's 27 - which seems incredible.)
Thanks grumpy01 for posting this.
