The day may come when they no longer have to 'think for themselves' (as they keep on telling us they do) - like the society portrayed in Douglas Adams’ novel, Dirk Gently’s  Holistic Detective Agency. (1987) - which I highly recommend btw.

In Adams' comic version of the future, there is an electric monk that believes in God for you. The lucky few who can afford it can also purchase a deluxe version, one that believes in things that they don’t, even in Salt Lake City. 😄

Adams is making fun out of the religious. One would have to be a bit dim to think it was the other way around.

Khandro - You persist in this nonsensical idea that atheists are as obsessed with NOT believing in God, as you fervents are in b believing in him.

The vast majority, and I would not presume to speak for all, never give it a thought.

Have you ever thought of getting a hobby?

Something to get your mind another track to go with the single one it has already?

Khandro; What's your post about? I don't understand it.

Atheist - // Khandro; What's your post about? I don't understand it. //

He's re-treading his tiresome and redundant 'us' and 'you' argument again because he has to look down on atheists because they don't believe as he does, and, like all fervents, he can;t stand it.

He chips away like a fly buzzing around, annoying, but inefectual, and best ignored.

That sounds as though believing in god is silly. I still don't get what you are driving at.

Douglas Adams was far too pleased with himself, and his books are worshipped by people who are the same.

I strongly suspect that khandro has entered the world of the airy-fairy again and has no intention of telling us what he's going on about because he doesn't really know himself.  I hope he proves me wrong.

Adams was an atheist, so i guess tomus is spot on with his comment.

Wonder if he still is 😉

I toying with leaving an instruction for my gravestone - a message I saw somewhere of a stone that read -

I Know Something You Don't Know.
