What is the logic behind the bb producers insisting that the housemates are woken at the crack of dawn and forced to get up - at a time of day when most people are either still asleep or at work, so aren't watching anyway. it just means the housemates are tired all day and keep having naps, and then go to bed early when people are up and wanting to watch, and all they can see is a grey screen full of beds!

i understand being tired makes people ratty and may cause friction, but people would still sleep the same length of time if they were woken later and went to bed later, and there would be a point to broadcasting for a few hours in the early hours of the morning

as it is channel 4 is wasted.

can anyone shed any light?

thanks

I think in the early shows they were allowed to sleep when they wanted and there was a sort of split between nighttime people and daytime people so there was less group dynamic.
You had drag people out of bed to do tasks and the like.
I know if i had the chance i'd stay up all night and sleep all day.

good point. I don't mean they shouldn't wake them at all though, just at an hour that they won't all want to be in bed by 11pm, say noon, then the early risers and late risers have a choice of what suits them. its only a few hours but i think it would make all the difference.

i would be up very late and sleep very late too - i am freelance so sometimes do that!
