The official solution - from the Workmen's Union, no less - is that real workmen (that's the ones that actually work) are trained to get on with the job, and to spend no time on the bog.

If I "went" prior to starting work I could probably do 8-5 without needing to go again. I think my gas boiler fitter went twice while he was here (he asked).

I've got cameras all over my property - I always tell workmen - so I doubt they were performing for the cameras.   It's possible they used their van.

A lady friend of ours is a professional gardener and she has a portaloo in the back of her van.  Very often her customers are not at home whilst she is slaving away in their gardens.

I had a new CH boiler fitted a couple of years ago and the great, hard-working guy was here from 8am till 4:30pm and definitely did not go to the toilet!

I've often wondered what those out working all day like postmen are meant to do (though twice binmen have used our covered bin store.  Yuk)

They probably use the van.

Speaking as an 83-year-old, for whom there is insuffcient provision of public toilets, you would be surprised how easy it is (for a man) to "leak" without getting arrested for indecent exposure.

My "best" so far has been the middle of the bridge across to Hayling Island, with traffic streaming past but I'm confident nobody spotted what I was doing ! ! !
