I used to pay £54 for their basic package, now it's £81 a month; this is for landline (which I don't use), TV and broadband. I just want to know who you are with and would you recommend them. Virgin quoted me £33 a month 🤷.

Thank you in advance.

A problem for anyon here who might want to offer suggestions is that we don't know which Sky TV services you want to retain.

If, say, you're a big sports fan, it might be hard to find a cheaper alternative.  However if, say, you only want to access these channels:

then it might be best to stick with Freeview and pay a tenner per month for a Now TV Entertainment package.  (You'd then be free to choose whichever ISP suited your broadband needs the best).

I've been with Virgin for over 20 years and I'm happy with the service and price although most years I have to phone up and haggle over the price.

They've quoted you £33 a month, how much will it be at the end of the contract or special offer?

I think it's just for 12 months, barry1010, so I'll have to move elsewhere after that.

Or haggle.

Our sky package has slowly crept up. I called them about 2 months ago and said we were leaving. Package ended up being reduced significantly. Almost immediately they offered £ off and then I pushed them a bit more. Always worth a call once you are out of contract.

I won't pay for TV, and find life is still worth living.

Try it.

Ring them and tell them you can't afford the new price and are leaving to go to another Company.

They will re negotiate a new deal, much cheaper. I don't have Sky but my brother does this every year and they always reduce it.

Worth a try before you go to the trouble of finding the package cheaper elsewhere.

I'm the same, Giz.  I've been paying less than half of what they've asked for for years.

I've tried haggling with SKY, reminded them I'm on social tariff, but they won't reduce by anymore than £69 per month! I'll have to come out of it.

I've been with SKY 25 years too!
