Is this a UK phenomenon? Every other TV advert (or more) seems to be for some charity trying to open our purses.
Is it the same in other countries? Are Nigerians deluged with adverts to donate to animal etc. rescue charities / charities for cleft palate or blind kids or clean water in Africa? Gets my bloody goat it does! 😠

I don't give to any charity because I don't believe the money goes to the cause in sufficient amounts. There was one famous charity, (some time ago I'll admit,) where only 3% of the money was being used for the cause they were supposed to be helping. That put me off for life.
It's these adverts that keep some channels limping along during the day. Advertising revenue is drying up and the daytime ad slots are much cheaper than prime time.
There are a few daytime series that I like to watch, I record them and FF through the ads. There is only so much I can of cheap funerals, funeral plans and life insurance.
