anyoe remeber this scifi film?

I was a kid, i remember watching it on bbc1 or bbc2 late night about 11pm - it was some kind of sci-fi horror movie about a house that has a computer system that has A-I but its evil and i remember watching this scene where towards the end theres this camera shot that follows the vertical drop rapidly into some kind of hell - anyone got a clue i think its defintely a US film set probably in the 80s...

I would hazard a guess that I first saw the film on TV in the early 80s (82/83?) but wouldn't have a clue as to when it was first broadcast.
