Will labour about to tax the balls off the workers (except the working person) SKS was asked what his definition who that was.  He replied "those who do not have the savings to get them through a crisis at home."

Now Ms Reeves (much more moderate and got her head reasonably screwed on) has poped up to say "he definition of working people included both pensioners and savers. "

So what is it?  Who will get taxed unitl the pips squeak and who will live off the back of that tax raised?

They will primarily look after benefit claimants, public sector workers and asylum seekers the rest of us are cash cows.

His definition of working people didn't include savers though.  Did the woman not listen to what he said?

Everyone who has a few pounds to call their own will get screwed.  The last time they were in office they abolished the low rate of income tax for low-earners and rifled pension pots - and yet they still masquerade as the party of the working man.  They're not.

Working class are those who has/had to find employment or whose "breadwinner" has/had to find a job during their working age years.

That's most of us aged 20+ then.

Yes "financial genius" Gorgon Browns abolition of the 10p tax rate was a total disaster (as he had been warned it would be). He had to reverse it by increasing personal allowance to put the lower paid back to where they were but that compensated the better off to a greater extent. What a dummy!

What's workig class?just ask sir keir starmers dad,he was working class,he was a tool maker you know.

No lefties commenting I see.

Most, if not all politicians haven't got a clue what life is like for the ordinary person in this country. What it means to have a mortgage; a regular job; the school run; raise a family, and everything else that goes with family life for the working people. The politicians are clueless about any of that.

That's rather a sweeping statement 10CS & may be true for a good number of politicos BUT MPs aren't MPs continuously - it's an in/out kinda job so I do think many have lead "ordinary" lives in the past and between spells in parliament.

I don't think so Dave. I really don't. Most people in politics today are career politicians from uni through to party worker to political candidate. Nowhere in that is there room for a normal family life. The days of the working man-cum-politician are long gone - people like Dennis Skinner and Joe Ashton.
