The BBC have announced they are to discontinue their racing tips on Radio 4.

Could it be they're mindful of the Tory betting scandal and have taken the opportunity to show their distaste for the sport of kings?

The beeb long since deserted horse racing, their last actual live coverage of the sport coming at the end of 2012.

They still have race reports and coverage of the classics on Radio 5 from time to time Ken.

It has always been a lot of fun.  There's a listener who reviews it every year and compares their results to other tipsters - usually Radio 4 is better than some, worse than others.  It ending may coincide with Garry Richardson retiring in September after 50 years.  He has been the "main" sports presenter and racing cheerleader.
