Always makes me think of this:

During filming there was considerable tension between Brynner and McQueen, who was displeased at his character having only seven lines of dialogue in the original shooting script. (Sturges had told McQueen that he would "give him the camera".) To compensate, McQueen took numerous opportunities to upstage Brynner and draw attention to himself, including shielding his eyes with his hat, flipping a coin during one of Brynner's speeches, and rattling his shotgun shells. Brynner would often build up a little mound of earth to make himself look as tall as McQueen, only to have McQueen kick the dirt out of place when he passed by.

The Big Country

All Randolph Scott & most of John Wayne & Audie Murphy.

(Amazes me that in westerns - particularly - they can knock out a guy with a single bolw when required but stand up to multiple punches in a bar room brawls. And if you knock a guy down you have to drag him to his feet before you hit him again!)

At the moment I'm liking "Ride the High Country" & "Valdez is Coming" hasn't been on for ages. Burt lancaster was also great in "Lawman".

It's a tough one, TM7 is up there but I think The searchers, True Grit, GBU, Pale rider are all as good and of course the Outlaw Josey Wales.

Have to agree with The Outlaw Jose Wales, TTT. The best of all Clint's westerns, imho.

For a Few Dollars More (loved the pocket watch tune)

True Grit
