Nose Grips

Would a nose grip like some swimmers use be okay to use to help stem a nosebleed? 
Sometimes my fingers are just too stiff and tired to hold on for long enough.

Are your nose bleeds heavy and often?

If so, you should see your GP.

They tried that for me in A&E. It didn't work for on me but, apparently, it usually does.

Ok, thanks for that. I'll give them a try. 
Barsel, they are quite heavy but not very often. I've suffered them almost all my adult life. I've seen the doctor about other things and mention the nosebleeds. Nothing to worry about I'm told. I put it down to a very sporty life in my younger days.

I knew someone who had heavy and frequent nosebleeds and became anaemic so had to have regular transfusions/infusions.

If you ever worry about them, ask your GP to send you for a blood test.

Surely it depends on whether it grips where the bleed is. If it grips below it the blood will build up above it and trickle back down the throat.

Hi Canary. The doctor told me to pinch my nose on the soft bit of the nostril as high up as I could so I'm assuming that's where the grip would go as well. I'm going to get one and try the next time (if there is a next time) I get a bleed.

Just as a by the by, way back in the day I was told to put my head back to stop it. Now it's head forward. Cold keys (why keys?) were dropped down your back clothing. Never did anything for me. Wonder why!!!
