I have two large agapanthus, new this year, and thriving, in pots.

We lost a previous one last winter because we didn't protect it so this year I've been very careful with the new ones.

After looking online for various things, what I've done is fold all the leaves on top of of the plants and  covered them with bubble wrap. I then bought two £1 orange buckets from you know where and put them over the bubble wrap with a two bricks on top of each to stop the wind blowing them off.

Cheap as chips, useable every year going forward, and hopefully fully protected the plants no matter how harsh the winter.

If they're in pots why not just bring them indoors (or shed or garage), where you can keep an eye on them - who knows what's happening under the bucket  ?

Far too big and heavy to move. I'm sure they'll be fine under their bucket hats.

Yes, I did wonder about that. Good luck 😊
