The Australian guy who was jailed for some scam involving diet tea (Bai Lin being the offending article) was Peter Foster, who enlisted his then girlfriend Sam Fox in promoting the bogus slimming aid.

(You may remember him for negotiating the purchase of two flats in Bristol on behalf of Cherie Booth QC).

To be precise he was only fined �21,000 after admitting trade description offences relating to the tea (this was in 1994, when he returned to Britain, six years after leaving the country to escape prosecution).

His incarceration in 1995 was for another slimming aid fraud, but he absconded while on day release.

And no, Sam Fox never married him
