The producers agreed that the question had been ambiguous and that their answer wasn't entirely wrong. No doubt they were worried about negative publicity, especially as the prize money was going to charity, so the LLBs were given another chance. Both attempts were shown on the same programme (which is always recorded in advance in case you hadn't guessed).
For the record, the question was "Translated from the Latin, what's the motto of the United States?"; they answered "In God We Trust", but although that is a motto of the USA it isn't translated from Latin and the answer they wanted was "Out of one, many", which translates from E Pluribus Unum.
