I have the film magazine, Empire, delivered every month but it's targetted at a younger, 'super-hero' loving market and is starting to make me feel ancient at 35.

Can anyone tell me of a monthly film mag that caters for film fans who enjoy indie and foreign films?

Well, I'm older than that and don't really have a problem with Empire. I think it's still very intelligently written and very informed.

Sight & Sound magazine might be what you're looking for.

Thanks Quizmonkey. I'm not a fan of super heroes, mutant animals and blockbusters like Narnia, Harry Potter or the Rings trilogy and I feel they're obsessed with them. Glad you enjoy it, though.
Drusilla, I stopped buying Empire a couple of years ago, I felt it was pandering to Hollywood and lost its impartiality ( and edge ). It is one big advert now for mainstream written by w"ks who pretend they know what they are talking about. I buy Total Film now, not a great mag, but a bit more impartial. Its very hard to get a magazine that will give movies a proper review now and it is pot luck as to whether they get it right.
Hi Drusilla1S, Im a little older than you and feel exactly the same about empire. I think i'll probably cancel my subscription soon as its beginning to annoy me. Quizmonkeys suggestion is good but I think that magazine is at completely the other end of the scale to empire as its rather cold and highbrow. Total Film and Hotdog are a bit better. When it comes to indie and foreign movies I usually trawl thru online sites.
