Sorry to those who are avid fans but I occasionally catch one in about 10 episodes of casualty and don't know why last time I watched the blond nurse had a russian accent and a russian dad and now has an english accent as isn't eternally hated by all the staff anymore.
Oh and what happened to the blond receptionist who was raped and went to court?
Thanks

The nurse in Casualty had a convincing accent, although I think the notion is that living in England has 'Anglicised' her speech patterns.
What usually happens is that people either genuinly lose most, but never all, of their accents, and it shows in odd phrases or speech idioms, or it remains utterly untouched by living in a foregn country.
The exception to this rule is Ulrika Johnnson who moved here when she was twelve, and has no trace a Swedish accent whatsoever.
