I believe that Shirley "Big Daddy" Crabtree's brother was the referee for many of the shows.

Marty Jones.

Have you tried The Wrestling Channel on Sky. They show these old matches from the World Of Sport days all the time.

Sadly Jackie Pallo died, aged 79, last month. I lived in the next road to him (in north London) when he was at the height of his fame in the 1960s. Jackie drove a white Saab car (which were quite rare in England in those days) and his son (Jackie jnr) went to my primary school.

Apart from wrestling, Jackie appeared on TV as an actor and was in an episode of the "Avengers". It was said that he was knocked out by Honor Blackman as they were rehearsing for the episode.

Jackie was born Jack Gutteridge, and was a cousin to Reg Gutteridge, the boxing jounalist and commentator.

Oh, and nobody seems to have mentioned Johnny Kwango or Billy Two-Rivers !!!

Honeyboy Zimba/Simba?, Mark 'Rollerball' Rocco, Clive 'Kung Fu' Myers

How about Count Bartelli........I used to watch wrestling at New Brighton Tower back in the 1950's ..........and another,Tiger Wood.
