Subject: Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Club - 50's

Question
My question is not about the theme parks. So I may be looking in the wrong place.

As a child in the 50's and early 60's, I watched the Mickey Mouse Club on television. Sometime during the program, they would show segments of movies (like Spin & Marty, etc.). We would see about 15 minutes of the movie and then it would be "continued on the next show".

One of the movies was about Mr. Applegate and the Gold Dabloons and pieces of Eight. It had kind of a pirate theme. Mr. Applegate lived in an old spooky house and he inherited pirate's treasure that was buried somewhere on his land. Thus the song, "Gold dabloons and pieces of eight, handed down to Applegate. But wait! Where are those gold dabloons, and pieces of eight!"

I would like to know where I can go to get more information on those old MMClub TV programs and find out about Mr. Applegate.

I have a grandson who is really into Lego's and we gave him a Lego Pirate Ship for his birthday. The Applegate song came to my mind and I sang it for him. I'd love to show him that old movie.

Thanks for any help you can give.
