Whats the dealio with this? I pay my �40 a month is that not enough to watch your special HD movies Mr Sky? What does HD stand for anyway? (Im sure its HD, its 2 letters anyway). And why have you changed all my channels about? Since when was 440 not MTV?

think it's High Definition and you have to have a special tele or summat complicated like that. yep, they been mucking about with the channels, and sports has moved after music I think, def isn't between films and music anymore. No need for any of it I reckon-leave it alone! lol

MTV is channel 340 now. If you have set up your favourite channels, the blue button will still take you to the channel even though it might have moved.

HD stands for high defendition, and you can't view them unless you have a HD TV, if you do phone them up and tell them you'll get them then and it should be free (not sure though).
They changed the channels about to fit with the new sky guide

HD is quite rightl High Definition.
The channels that have HD linked with them can only be viewed with a HD TV, they cost a bomb, but worth it in my opinion. And yes, if you phone up Sky they will give you the channels for free.

the channels are not active yet they are still at the test phase.in order to view these channels you will need an hv ready tv and a hd sky box.

knowing sky,i doubt very much these channels will be free when they become available.

According to the Sky HD website you need:

Sky HD Subscription

Sky HD box that includes Sky+

HD ready TV

(and if you get a HD ready TV you may want to buy yourself a HD ready DVD player... and then new HD DVDs...)

They haven't announced any prices at the moment but I'd imagine it would cost a fair bit. Might be worth waiting a year or two when the prices come down a bit.

I also heard that HD films might have a form of macrovision encrypted in the broadcast. This will either mean that you can't record them, like Box Office, or that you can record them but not in HD quality.

At least the HD channels they have put on are not new extra ones. I bet in probably 5 years time most people will be watching stuff on HD tv's
