The five male family members who have all died in the war are lying in the sun when they gradually turn to white crosses.
Gradually the camera slowly pans back to reveal fields and fields of white crosses in neat rows, and you get a lump in your throat.
I think a lot of the films mentioned here have twists in them. Which is fine. But with a lot of them, the whole conclusion was based on a twist, with a stupid film tagged on to it. If the twist is integral to the film then fair enough. But any film with ghosts, multiple personality syndrome, or the presumed-innocent-yet-guilty-all-along murder films are all poor, and have the imagination of a scooby doo episode. In facr, good films have good endings. Whereas a sh*t film cannot be great film with a good ending.
Good endings:
Heat, Carlito's Way, Silence of the Lambs, Leon, Usual suspects, Scarface.
