horror sequels

Can anybody name a half decent horror sequel? I don't think there is one. And why does hollywood persist on remaking classic horrors?

can't name one,sorry!they should leave the originals alone.you can't beat the original psycho or texas chainsaw massacre.

Scream 2 was good. The worst has to be The Rage: Carrie 2.

Anyway Omen 2 was passable although not as good as the first.If you count Alien as horror then I agree with Skids.Excorcist 2 was absolute sh1te.

Generally you are right though, the sequels are rarely as good.

I think Aliens is definatly better than alien, Blade 2 if that counts as a horror is 100% better than blade.

Evil Dead 2 is the best horror sequel AND remake. Period. Dawn of the Dead is a pretty good sequel to Night of the Living Dead. And Aliens obviously.

I think Hollywood has started remaking classic horrors because (a) it's easier than coming up with new ideas and (b) a lot of dumb kids won't watch anything that's more than a couple of years old and doesn't star anyone out of Dawson's Creek, etc. More fools them.

Feebal i like your thinking, you seem to be on the ball, i am unsure about Aliens though, wouldn't class that as horror, more action suspense maybe.

I thought the prequel sequel to the Exorcist was pretty good. It was on Sky Box Office recently.

The only sequels I could recommend are from the 'Hellraiser' trilogy. Beyond the trilogy they were complete rubbish..can't recommend any other sequels as most are pants.

Same goes for remakes (sorry, what was the question again???)
