Hi, I have friend who was given a microwave.On the front where the door meets the case there is a small area where the paint has come off.Someone has painted over this bit and everytime it was used the paint would bubble at the end of the cycle.They have stopped using it as they where worried that microwaves were escaping. Do you think that this may be correct?.

I'm not qualified to say, but I wouldn't use it if you paid me.
Well microwaves are not like water that will leak out through any gap, they need a certain space to get through, as you can tell with many microwave ovens that have holes punched in the inner metal door so that you can see inside, If the door is actually closed as per normal I expect that nothing would escape.
