Scrappy Doo: yay or nay?

I've always assumed he was universally loathed, but I've just read on a separate thread that someone prefers Scooby Doo if Scrappy is in it, which seems like heresy to me. What do others think?

I think in the first of the live action scooby doo movies they summed it up, when he was revealed as the bad guy whom even the team had rejected.

scrappy came in when i was at a very impresionable age (is that spelt right) i have to say i didnt mind him,but when everyone else said they hated him i also hated him!!!!.

They ditched Fred, Velma and Daphne...DAPHNE, FFS!!!...for that little git, you know. Some numpty obviously thought that would improve the show - or perhaps they were looking to kill the ratings so they'd have an excuse to cancel it.

I've always hates Scooby Doo with a passion, so I never ever watch it - although I have seen odd minutes when the children / grandchild have watched, and I find Scrappy Doo no less irritating that Scooby, only because Scooby is irritating to the max, already!

OH. MY. GOD. I cannot stand him, it was funny in Scooby Doo (the film version) when they took the mick out of him.
