hi, after watching saving private ryan recently , i was wondering if anyone knew what the german soldier was saying as he was sticking the knife into the american soldier and sushing him whilst doing it? as this is a very moving scene . my first thought was this he was saying was like a paramedic would say like" im just putting this knife into your chest,alright! you may feel a bit of a discomfort alright!" seriously though ! would like to know

I found that bit a very odd scene it was if he was trying to comfort him in the manner of "dont worry it will all be over in a few moments"

The scene didn't work for me at all, although I thought overall it was an outstanding film.

This translates: "Give up, you don't stand a chance! Let's end this here, it will be easier for you like this!" The words are spoken in Austrian-accented German.
