Can anyone name any characters from either Camberwick Green or Trumpton?
They were two of my favourite programmes as a kid.

(....and don't give me any "its before my time" rubbish, i was born in 1987, and my Dad made the effort!!!)

Well done!!!! i always thought it was Hugh, Pugh.....(but they're brothers arent they? - doh!!)

Did you see the advert on tv recently with Windy Miller in it?! I think it was some kind of porridge oats, but it was CLASS!

I think it is older than u think, I left school in 1972 and it had been on tele then for about 6 years

I remember the woman with the dogs, can't think of her name though!

I think the woman with the dogs was called Miss Dingle.
I can remember Camberwick Green way back in the 60's. I was a teen then and my younger brother used to watch it..and me:-))

Do you mean the programmes or the advert Dot?
I know the programme was well before my time, but i thought the advert was more recent.
The one where the narrator says to Windy Miller that if he eats a bowl of this cereal every day, he can get lots of energy to run.
Windy frowns at this suggestion and shakes his head,
and then an attractive female (not sure which character this was) jogs past, and he quickly nodds and jogs off after her!

Oh wow metz! nice one, yeh i remember the greengrocers song! i taught it to my brother when he was 3!!!
One of the less well known characters is Mr Dagenham the salesman. He drives a red car and tries to sell Windy Miller something, I think maybe a helicopter??His song is "he can sell anything, anything money can buy" and featured in one episode of Camberwick Green. Although many of the characters only came up on the music box once, for a story about them, some characters feature in many other programmes or are just better remembered.
Whic one was it that the factory workers came out to dance?.
they are both out on dvd in my local tescos, fab nostalgia!!!!

Windy Miller, Windy Miller sharper than a thorn,

Like a mouse he's spy and nimble when he grinds the corn,

Like a bird he watches and he listens for the sound,

That says he has the wind he needs to make his sails go round
