What was that series?

Hi, does anyone know the name of an American sci-fi series from either the '70s or '80s about an electrically-powered alien man who wore a suite with blue lights all over it, who had to periodically recharge himself using any near-by electrical source, and who also drove a black Aston Martin Bulldog-shaped car with blue bar lights all over it that moved very quickly and never needed to slow down at corners?
He was often accompanied by a human woman who seemed to be the only one who knew about him. It was such an enjoyable series, does anyone know anything about this please?
