It was in fact very real, robbie was contacted by derren at the end of october last year to be asked to take part in a secret display of courage and bravery, that's all he was told at the time, and he agreed to do it not knowing what he was letting himself in for. Derren did in fact put needles through his arm, but before this stunt was filmed derren went to speak with a medical team and got some advice on how to insert them without causing him severe damage and pain, although it looked quite shocking to watch, it was very well stunted and no-one was hurt.

Hi shazzabell, I also watched the show and thought it was excellent. I like watching Derren I think he is great. You could tell by the look on Robbie's face when he saw the needles in his arms that he was a bit shocked and uneasy about it. Yes, the blood did seem to pour out of his arm. Rather him than me and Robbie was a good sport for allowing himself to be Derren's volunteer.

The very yummy Derren did say to the also very yummy Robbie that if he didn't freak out it wouldn't hurt and it wouldn't bleed. And I suppose it's true that when you cut yourself, you don't really feel it hurting until you see that you've done it. I fell over a few weeks ago, and sliced my hand open, but it didn't hurt until I noticed the blood all over me.

Robbie's arm didn't bleed until he started to freak out about needles through his arm.

Derren can stick needles in me any time he likes!!
