Having just watched Donnie Darko on Region 1 DVD, there were a few scenes that I don't recall seeing when I saw it at the cinema. Does anyone know whether there were different versions released in the UK and the US? Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for posting a question on the best indie movie ever made. Did you see Donnie Darko at the cinema in the USA, or in the UK? Do you know which scenes were different/extra? I've watched the R1 DVD with the commentary from Richard Kelly (wr/dir) and Jake Gyllenhaal and there was no mention made of any difference in the cinema/DVD versions of the film. The BBFC passed the movie for cinema release on 13/5/02 with no cuts,so presumably the UK cinema version is the same as the R1 DVD.
