Assuming you are just being naive, I shall explain
ALIAS smith and jones was a comedy western from the early seventies, starring Pete Duel, Roger Davis and Ben Murphy, and shown on the BBC. It was about two criminals trying to go straight with an amnesty, except that it was a secret, and technically they were still the crims hannibal hayes and kid curry, who now had aliases of smith and jones.
