Yes you can hear it. Coz it is sampling it.
nope your not imagining it, does my head in every time i hear it
I can hear it, although once I do I turn the radio off because it's a dreadful song.

Yes I heard this too...and its a great song!

Is it actually a proper sample? it sounds more like someone has copied it, if you catch my drift..doesn't sound the same like a sample should.
not only does she sample it she uses the line "toss and turn I can't sleep at night" from the original song as well (and yes it is pretty awful!!)

oh my god so she does! I really liked the song but i knew there was SOMETHING wrong with it! It was doing my head in for ages, i could hear that in the backround and couldnt figure out wat it was! And to think she uses that line aswell! Oh well, to me it IS slightly catchy and i will go ahead and say i like it but now im not really sure!!

Scottish-Babe

Scots-babe - I saw it on MTV a few weeks ago and couldn't get it out of my head. Mentioned it to a friend and she said abot the Soft Cell sample.....then it dawned on my, THAT"S why it was so catchy, but I'd neve rreally noticed before. I like it too (you're not alone lol), tho it might get a bit annoying in the future.
Just to clear things up JenJen86, Gloria Jones (of Marc Bolan fame) sang the original song in 1968, it's a Norther Soul classic. Soft Cell's is a cover version.
and marlyin manson did a cover to didnt he?
