Heart Trouble

Hi all - I have a problem that I need some advice on! My family has a history of PKD (polycystic kidney disease) which I know for a fact I will also have, although i won't be tested for it yet. Last year my dad started having random heart palpitations (where his heart stopped for a beat or two and then kick started again, but did it over and over for about 20mins) He got it checked out at the hospital and they just said it was an arythmea or something and not to worry. It's since got a lot better, he just gets them occasionally. Then recently, my sis had a spell of fainting attacks and said that she too had felt a few little heart palpitations. She got checked out but the doc said she was ok, it was just cos she had low blood sugar that she fainted and that her heart was nothing to worry about. And here's the problem. I've been having these heart things for about 6 months. I usually have 1 every other day or so and it only does it once just enough to make me cough involuntarily and notice my heart beating a little quicker for a few minutes afterwards. I don't want to tell anyone about it though, I'm worried it could be something bad - the fact that we've all experienced it, plus we have this kidney thing, which can lead to heart and blood pressure problems. My dad's father died of a heart attack at a really young age because of PKD which really scares me too. What should I do? I know you're all going to say go and get it checked out, but i'm scared of what they will say!!! And if I tell my dad, he'll go mad that I haven't said something sooner! i'm just terrified that something is going to happen to him and I don't want to stress him out!!! I just need a bit of advice from my fellow ABers please! Thanks All!! x
