Ch4 documentary

Does anyone rememeber a documentary programme on Ch4 a lot of years ago where a crashed WW2 airplane was found almost intact on an island somewhere and was restored by a mechanic ( who If I remeber correctly - sadly died before the project was completed ). I think there was a follow on program a while later and after they had restored the airlplane to full working order - only to have it destroyed by a fire caused by a generator they had put on board on take off.

What was the title of these programs ?
