Haven't seen it for ages . It used to be on late at night a few years ago.

Thanks Mickey - that's the one! It's based on a play, not a book which I've been looking for. It may come out on dvd eventually - some of the old plays are being reproduced and sold by the newer catalogue companies. I recently bought the complete series of "Redcap" - John Thaw of Morse fame - through a similar outlet.
