For laugh out loud value I have to say Scrubs is one of the better ones, but I watched M*A*S*H the first time around religiously and it was always hilarious but sometimes so poignant.
Recently,I suppose i'd have to plump for 'Frazier' Going back there have been some belters, 'Honeymooners' Bilko'
too many to recall
Frasier is the ultimate one for me. I do like Scrubs a lot and My Name is Earl is a heavyweight contender.
i loved MASH, Frasier is great too, i also love Sports Night but it was cancelled after two series.

I remember loving Rhoda and Lavern and shirley in the 70s/80s but i wasn't very old at the time, so i don't know if they would stand the test of time.

But as RnR said...too may to recall.
As an over-the-pond dweller, I've no favorite, but a number make the short list: Scrubs, Sports Night, Just Shoot Me, Murphy Brown and The Bob Newhart Show. To me, Cheers and Frasier were best in the earlier seasons.
..I loath american comedy, the only exception was Soap...classic...
I haven't liked many. Most are pretty pathetic. I used to like 'Taxi', 'Darma & Greg' and 'Laverne & Shirley'.

'Everybody Loves Raymond' is good, but that's about it, really.
soap was pure class , along with taxi, and used to love police squad too.
Will & Grace
Frasier, Scrubs and My Name Is Earl for me. I did like the early series of Will And Grace, but then it got stupid, wheeling out a different "surprise" guest star nearly every week. Ho hum..
I notice no-one's mentioned 'Friends'
(You can't do 'sarcasm' in type so this explanation will have to do.)
what a rotten show that was. why did it run so long?
anyway, my vote is for 'Frasier'. Some people rave for 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' but I've never seen it.
Scrubs - nuff said!
Soap - the ultimate
M*A*S*H - before the canned laughter
Roseanne - for dysfunctional humour
Grace under Fire - redneck humour
I loved MASH and also really enjoyed Roseanne. Sorry steve@home, but I also watched Friends.
Frasier
Bilko
Seinfeld
Friends
Mash
Taxi
Jack and Karen
Grace under Fire
Roseanne
The Dick Van Dyke Show
Cheers
The Cosby Show
Fresh Prince
My Three Sons
Petticoat Junction.

That'll do.
