Hi All,
What do you think is Charlie Chaplin's Best Work? I have just bought a box set containing 'Modern Times', 'The Gold Rush', 'The Great Dictator', and 'Limelight'. I have yet to watch them, and have only ever seen clips of him before. However, are these the best of his work, or is his early short films considered his finest amongst fans? I love all of 'Laurel and Hardy's' work, but I consider their comedy shorts to be their greatest. Is it the same for Chaplin? What is considered great 'Little Tramp' works? Your opinions please!

Many critics list 'The Kid' as one of his best works; I suppose it depends if you like pathos as well as slapstick.
