what is your favourite theme tune for any show that's ever been on? I loved Starsky and Hutch and the Professionals, both cool themes. Also, Only fools and horses is great! One more i really think is great, although i can't be doing with the programme, is Dr Who.
The original 'Dr Who' theme is very nostalgic, as is 'Robinson Crusoe' (all Ab'ers of a certain age are now mentally singing Dah-dah-dah-de-dahhh....) but my all-time fave has alwyas been 'The Prisoner'. I also adore 'Man In A Suitcase' 'Fireball XL5' 'Stingray' and 'Captain Scarlet'.
Trvia fans, did you know that Brain Cobby, the voice of the 'Speaking Clock' does the 'Thunderbirds' countdown? Well, you do now!
I've just been watching season 1 of Magnum and discovered that the terrific theme for that only came in over halfway through the season. That and Quantum Leap always stick in my mind.
Just fresh from answering a 'Covers' question in Music: 'White Horses' by Jackie. Anybody remember 'The Flashing Blade'? ('You've got to fight for what you want, for all that you believe...')
Totally agree with Stingray (the bongos, 'Anything can happen in the next half-hour!'), and the Thunderbirds march...
But, my favourites: Batman & Hawaii 5-0!
Dah-dah-de-dum-da-daaah. Oh, I'm sorry, blame andy hughes.
Pretty much anything composed by Mike Post for me - The A-Team, Hill Street Blues, that kind of thing. I also loved Tony Christie's Avenues and Alleyways from The Protectors.
Hi unrulie julie. My favourite is the Doctor Who theme although I prefer the older versions with the synths.Others though are The persuaders ,The Saint , Jason King , Strange report , the avengers. All repeated recently. How about Mastermind, Rentaghost ,Dallas and The incredible Hulk . Oh not forgetting Blue peter and Wonder Woman.:-D
Sooooo got 2 agree with you UJ. Lalo Schifrin a god in the 70's and 80's cop show theme scene. And as for the professionals well.. that is one of our favourite sing the theme tune pieces! Many a balmy night in the garden with a beer has been passed in the company of friends seeing who can mimic theme toons. What d'y athink about the sweeny? 2 for this one, upbeat and a sad slow one that played when the ending of the show had been sad.
Sunday, Monday, Happy Days...Tuesday, Wednesday Happy Days...Thursday, Friday, Happy Days.........................................Can you guess what is it yet??
