Me and My Girl was quite good as well.
Citizen Smith - 'Power to the People'!
Just read the question properly, and 'Foxie' was of course BBC.
I used to like Outside Edge. Also, it wasn't a sitcom but one of the funniest programmes of the last few years was Rob Brydon's underrated gem Director's Commentary which was on ITV.
How about just the two of us ? IT WAS GREAT !!
Actually, High Times was ITV...or was it just STV? Anyway, the funniest ITV sitcom by a mile. And very recent.
Kick, do you mean The High Life? If so, good shout.
The High Life! God, I'd forgotten that one - Alan Cummings and Siobhan Redmond, wasn't it? Very funny - did they only make one series? I'd agree with Rising Damp too, but on the whole ITV ha've been pretty awful for sitcoms.

As for loopyc nominating Barbara and Duty Free, you are Gwen Taylor and I claim my 5.
The Baldy Man..... played by the Gregor Fisher who also played Rab C Nesbit
Coupling - brilliant
No guys, I do mean High Times, about a group of people who lived in a high rise in Glasgow. It was superb byraway (sorry). Was on late.
Did anyone ever see 'Babes in the Wood', with Davina McCall and that Big Breakfast one as flatmates living in St. John's Wood? Truly awful - I think it might have only been on for a couple of weeks before it was taken off air.
when you see it like this, you kind of feel better about the licence fee don't you? - given that some of the best comedy ever was made by the beeb, i could list some classics but it would probably go over the 2000 character limit.

what a sorry mess itv is... i am quite shocked

(to be fair, most of those mentioned are watchable and you enjoy them for the half hour they are on, but they are forgettable and certainly not classics)
Some of the early David Jason ones like Sharp Intake of Breath or Mysterious World of Edgar Briggs were very good, but as he has artistic control and right of veto, i dont think youll see these released on video or dvd.
