I think there might be more of a twist to it than that... It seemed obvious from the second he recognised Clark Kent that he was his son, but you never actually heard what Lois whispered to Superman, so I'd be surprised if it was that obvious
Well technically Lois couldn't know that he is Supermans kid as all her memories of her sleeping with him and knowing that he was clark etc. were erased when he got his powers back. Which leads to the question of how she could have written an artical on 'Spending the night with Superman'!
I'm sure there is a bigger story behind it but not sure what. My other half is reading the novel at the moment and when he's finished i'll ask him if it explains more as it's got all the scenes that were cut out in it (for example the bank robbery scene didn't seem to have a purpose to it but in the book Lex actually set it up to distract from the museum robbery). Will let you know if it explains any more.
And btw Stryker he can't just give someone his powers as they are due to his Kryptonian molecular density and the earths gravity differing to Krypton and our solar system having a yellow sun. He wouldn't have powers on Krypton they are due to him being on earth and near the sun (which recharges him as you saw in the film). I guess it would all depand on whether the kid has more kryptonian genes or human as to whether he would have powers. Not 100% sure but that's how i understand it!
The "I spent the night with Superman" article refers to the events in the first movie when Superman took Lois for the trip around Metropolis. The consumation took place in Superman 2.
