Every female I know who's seen Amelie loved it. I guess you've all probably seen Bend it like Beckham which is lovely - I'm going to watch Monsoon Wedding for a bit of cheery Bollywood.

The Object of my Affection. With Jen Aniston: it's not very new, but is a really good rom-com about a girl who falls in love with her gay roommate. Have fun!

Never Been Kissed with Drew Barrymore is not exactly slushy, but its still a romantic comedy and its quite funny in places as well as making you go 'ah bless' at the end. Personally, I'd watch Dirty Dancing on repeat - classic!

"Strictly Ballroom" is not new , but remains one of the classiest romantic comedies I've ever seen - a real feel-good film right the way through. A brilliant Aussie satire!!
