Simpsons Movie

I heard a while ago that there was to be a Simpsons movie. Has anything ever happened with that?? Or was it just a rumour??

Empire mag had a small article a few months back about a movie being planned however at the early stages there was talk that it was going to be made the way the flintstones movies had been made getting real actors to play the characters but it looks like it will be done as a long animated cartoon.
