i saw the original at the weekend for the 1st time and liked it apart from i thought he accepted his fate at the end too readily.

i have heard that the new one is awful with some unnecessary changes from the original.

The new version is not as good as the original, but it is sort-of OK and not rubbish. There are some elements in the original which have not appeared in the new version, but the new film also has a few elements of plot which are new ideas and which add to the story in an interesting way.

A while a go I went to see the new version of "The Omen" which I considered to be fairly pointless because it was so close to the original in almost every detail. It is better that the Wicker Man is different from the original because it provides more to think about.
