Stingray victim

Whats the big deal on the twerp who got killed by a stingray. All these outpourigs of grief are so false - who remembers the idiot taking his weeks-old baby into the crocdile enclosure. If he wants to play around with viscous animals to prove how clever he is, he must accept the consequenses.

Who else could bring you this close to the animals.
He also had such and amazing on-screen personality, after any of his shows my brothers and i would often be using his cactchphrases.
so yep, "get a load of this lil fella"

I don't go in for pampered celebrities either but Steve Irwin didn't come into that category.
He was a bloke who did a lot of good for his cause, he didn't have to but did it because he wanted to.
The answers people are giving are not false they just some up what a great bloke he was, full of energy and people are showing how shocked they are because he was still young, with a young family.
Yes he put himself in danger every time he did his job and probably expected each day to be his last and lived his life that way, but it just goes to show what a by the response from around the world that people did actually like him.
The sick jokes gooner just some up the sort of a bloke you are, I will leave that up to other people to decide!

As far as AB is concerned, I don't think there have been 'outpourings of grief', just sadness that a good man who did a lot for the planet has died, leaving a wife and small children.
He never 'played around' - if you watch his shows and listen to his commentary, it is plain that he had deep understanding and respect for the animals with which he interacted, and never took their goodwill for granted.
Finally, stingrays are known for being timid, and the accident was a freak occurance.
Once again you have gone against the general opinions of the AB Loosehead, which is your right, but let's try and remember that apart from a TB personality, Steve Irwin was a husband and dad, and that's a tragedy no matter how much you may disagree with his actions, or how famous, or not, he was.
