Out of body experience or nightmare?
6 Answers
Ok the nightmare question below made me remember this recurring nightmare i had that i wanted to post on here. Right, i was asleep and dreaming - and all of a sudden i could see myself asleep almost as if i was looking down on myself - and i could see all this evil surrounding me and whirling around me. In my nightmare i had this urge that i just had to wake myself up before the evil got me/killed me/took over me (im not sure which but something along the lines of that was going to happen). So i start trying to wake myself and i am back in my body this time and i am trying to shuffle but my body is really heavy and will not move (maybe because i am asleep) and i make about 3 attemts to move and i get really pannicky. Then i have an idea to make myself jump so i jolt myself and actually wake up feeling myself jump...(i am actually awake then)
But the scary thing is this is a recurring dream and if i go straight back to sleep it happens again so i have to keep myself awake for about 10mins before going back to sleep peacefully.
This dream has happened on 3 different occasions (twice of which it has repeated itself ).
Does anyone know what this dream may mean? or if it was some kind of out of body experience and why it keeps recurring?
Any info would be great
Cheers x

I actually read a book a found on the tube once about Astral Projection (basically what you are doing/dreaming) and I tried it. Whether I dreamt it or it happened, I saw myself above my body and moving away, though I seemed to be connected by some kind of umbilical cord. I remember I got so scared the cord would break, I panicked and went back into my body.
No help to you really, other than not showing any contempt or disdain for your experiences.

I did not intend to upset anyone when posting the question re : nightmares.
What prompted it was
I was in a very remote part of southern Ireland recently and dreamed a bat flew through the open window and landed on my face.
I woke up shouting thinking it was nightmare but when I woke up there was a bat clinging onto my face which was very frightening, this was part of the nightmare. When I woke up again, this time in the real world, if my heart had been a bit dicky w
hat would have happened ?

dilligaf - why would your post on nightmares upset people? thats a pretty bad nightmare. I know someone who had a similar one to that but it was about an angel visiting him in his sleep and giving him her number. Then he woke up and found a number on the bedside cabinet (which is all part of the dream) - and went to phone it and then woke up properly. Apparently he was proper confused when he woke up!
