After the success of 'Big Brother' TV producers everywhere have jumped on the 'reality TV' bandwaggon, because success in any medium is always follwed by a host of imitators. The fact seems to be that this kind of show is a 'one-shot deal', and its shelf life is exceedingly limited. As you will know by now, 'Survivor' has been scaled down from four nights a week to just one - proof that the advertising revenue, which governs the success of any commercial television programme, is not there. Maybe the notion of seeing a collection of deeply unpleasant people getting on each others' nerves in a tropical setting is just not as entertaining in 'reality', as the producers thought it wold be when the dreamed up the idea. With any luck the whole genre will die a death!
