advert for Silent Hill

does anyone else find this advert just a little too explicit, or am i just being a bit squemish

I saw it last night.
It ends with something or someone getting their throat slit.

Yes, I think it's a bit much for a tv ad.

I found it a little too much as well, although I'm squeamish anyway!!

My son saw it too and things like that don't normally get to him (he's an 11 year old bloodthirsty boy!!!) but he said it was a bit too much for an advert!

With all the things we are subjected to on tv, this is tame.

I haven't seen the advert, but that does sound quite disturbing. Particularly because it's an advert. There are no listings to tell you what adverts will be coming up and it is very rare that such adverts are preceded with a warning for sensitive viewers to turn away. Therefore even if it is more 'tame' than other programmes on TV, then it can have a more shocking impact due to the unexpected nature of its appearance.

If you are really MadMaz concerned I suggest reporting it to the Advertising Standards Agency. http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/how_to_complain/comp laints_form/ If the adverts depicts (or appears to depict) what has been described above then would surely be a breach of the ASA's guidelines.
